Matthew 12:9-14

A Man with a Withered Hand

9 He went on from there and ^aentered their synagogue. 10 And a man was there with a withered hand. And they asked him, ^b“Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”— ^cso that they might accuse him. 11 He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep, ^dif it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 ^eOf how much more value is a man than a sheep! So ^fit is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” 13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And ^gthe man stretched it out, and it was restored, healthy like the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.

Mark 3:1-6

1 ^hAgain ⁱhe entered the synagogue, and a man was there with a withered hand. 2 And ^jthey watched Jesus, ^{▼▼Greek him} to see whether he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse him. 3 And he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come here.” 4 And he said to them, ^l“Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent. 5 And he ^mlooked around at them with anger, grieved at ⁿtheir hardness of heart, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” ^oHe stretched it out, and his hand was restored. 6 ^pThe Pharisees went out and immediately ^qheld counsel with ^rthe Herodians against him, how to destroy him.
